Evaluate how power policy, scheduling, graphics paths and background contention affect game frame times. The goal is to remove a demonstrated constraint, not to apply every setting.
Power and scheduling choices affect the response to load. Recording, services and other tasks may compete for CPU, memory or disk resources. Evaluate the actual workload rather than assuming that disabling a setting improves performance.
Graphics paths and compatibility
Game Mode, HAGS, MPO and GPU selection affect different parts of the graphics path. Suitability depends on the OS, driver and game combination. Treat them as separate variables so gains and regressions remain attributable.
State tracking and rollback
A successful settings write is not evidence of better gameplay. Distinguish applied, skipped, failed and restart-pending results. Preserve the previous state for restorable changes instead of substituting arbitrary defaults.

Validation method
Fix the game version, graphics settings, resolution and frame cap, then record a baseline.
Test one setting or one explicitly related group, completing any required restart.
Compare average FPS, 1% Low, frame-time variation, temperature and power. Restore changes without a repeatable benefit.
